Tamara Severn, MA, LMFT (Lic.#49815)
In a comfortable and supportive environment, I offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each of my clientís varying needs. I work collaboratively with each client with an emphasis on providing tools that foster self exploration, healing and personal growth. I work with couples, individuals and families where I treat various issues such as: relational/marital discord, trauma, self esteem, anxiety, depression, grief, stress management, adjustment difficulties relating to change, family discord, emotional regulation issues and more.

I particularly enjoy helping clientís overcome obstacles that lead to painful relationship issues and patterns. Together we delve into family of origin work to better understand how unmet childhood needs become our deepest triggers that get re-enacted, and keep us from getting the love we want. Clientís learn how to respond verses react to their triggerís, which greatly enhances our relationship to self and otherís.

My education and employment background is related primarily to helping professions. I have been in private practice as a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist for the last 16 years. Prior to that, I owned a vocational rehabilitation firm for 20 years where I provided vocational counseling to injured workers. I also worked at College of the Redwoods as a Learning Disability Specialist. My work has been extremely rewarding, as it has allowed me to accompany others on their life journey. As many spiritual teacherís have expressed, ď Life is a journey where weíre all just walking each other home.Ē

Please note, that due to the COVID-19 crisis, I am offering only telehealth services at this time. In addition to my customary services, Iím also providing stress management skills to help deal with the current crisis.
